I. 语法 (GRAMMAR)

Past Progressive Tense / Past Perfective Tense:

(was / were doing) (had done)

I was having lessons when you called me.

They were having a party yesterday evening.

— What were you doing at that time? — We were dancing.

It was raining all night.

While I was reading, my mother was cooking.

By ten o"clock, I had finished my homework.

After we had finished the job, we could go out for a walk.

She had left before I arrived there.

They said they had found the lost boy.

II. 地道情景表达 (SITUATIONAL EXPRESSIONS)

问路 (Asking way and direction)

— Excuse me, Do you know the way to ...?

— Iwant to go to ... Where is it? — Which is the way to ...

— Can you tell me how can I get to ... / how to ...

— Would you please show me the way? — Can you direct me to ...

— Is this the way to ...

Follow your nose and you"ll find the station.

Go along / down / ahead until you reach....

Turn left / right at the first turning / crossing.

Take the first turning on your right.

When you see the traffic lights, turn left.

Keep going before you come to...

It"s just across the street / around the corner / opposite the shop / next to the school.

You will have to get off at ... stop.

Is it far from here? How far is it?

It"s only about ... far (away).

It"s not very far. You can walk within ... minutes. It"s about five minutes" walk.

You can take No.3 bus to get there.

It will take you half an hour to get there by bike.
